Great opportunity for outreach and raising awareness of the wonders of our Solar System this Friday.

This Friday 27th July there will a total lunar eclipse, in fact the longest lunar eclipse of this century! Also 4 planets – Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Venus will all be visible.

Mars will be the closest to Earth since 2003, and is at opposition meaning fully illuminated by the Sun and hence at its brightest.

Partial eclipse starts from 6.15pm, full eclipse from 7.30 to around 9.15pm.

Let’s all look up and enjoy this wonderful celestial phenomenon!
