The Chief Executive Officer of Sinel Specialist Hospital, Dr. Michael McCarthy has encouraged government to provide the enabling environment for private medical facilities to thrive, he said this at the opening of the first MRI center in Tema.

Dr. McCarthy explained that access to electricity, water and good roads if provided by government will augment their efforts in their quest to contributing to an effective health care delivery system in the country.

Dr. McCarthy was speaking at the commissioning of a Magnetic Resonance Imaging, MRI, Center at the Sinel Specialist Hospital in Tema, the center will be the First MRI Center in Tema and is the newest addition to the numerous services provided by the hospital.

The centre will provide screening to the people of Tema and its environs.

Dr. Michael McCarthy said, “the enabling environment is very key to our growth… In Tema, there are three government health facilities and over fifty five private health facilities. This indicates that the private health facilities are contributing enormously to the health care delivery system in this part of the country. We are very active in ensuring that the public is active and healthy.”

Dr. McCarthy added, “we cannot provide the roads for ourselves that will be very expensive, I believe if government comes in to provide  good roads, access to portable water and electricity we will be able do more in our quest to providing quality healthcare.”
